Let's first start with this video in case you didnt see it before.

Jaws dropped!? Sat down in a lonely corner thinking how will this change the world!? is the Matrix really inevitable? why the hell didn't you think of this simple DSP idea and implemented it in MATlab and be famous and rich!!??

Happened to me too and everyone who watched that video. Rumors has it that the guy behind this one-of-a-kind-yet-simple idea was hired in Adobe. I wonder why!?

And what about forging!? If your kids in the future will be able to remove their unwanted friends from group photos that easy, how easy will it be to fraud papers!!?? Will it be illegal in Egypt...sure will. It happend to the GPS, and Content-Aware Image Resizing is no exception.

BountyFisshing claimed in their blog that they know how to find cheaters who photoshop their fish to win some serious money. I wonder how their technique will change to catch forgers?

So far so good. Now the geniuses behind this idea launched their own website showing the above video. AND A FULL ACADEMIC PAPER DESCRIBING HOW THE ALGORITHM WORKS!! Now you have no execuse to implement it in your next project, even if it's not part of the requirements...adding this feature will make customers happy all the way.

Wait, it doesnt stop there!! A whole breed of implementations are being spread right now:

• Picutel Smart Resize: Photoshop plugin (95$)
• Liquid Resize: GIMP (open-source) plugin
• Flash Action Script Implementation: Source code and Tutorial
• Seam CAIR: an open-source implmentation written with .NET by my Egyptian muslim brother, Haytham.
  

This will take everything to totally new heights. Of course there has been many touch screen for years, but the innovation here is with it's multi-touch capability, i.e. tracking more than one finger and this, from a programming point of view, needs totally different methodologies and algorithms to handle.

Best part? it's running totally in WPF!! So if you create an application with .NET 3.0, you could have it running on Microsoft Surface! How neat is that!?
