imageMasrawy recently published an online article about new IT companies in Egypt that open up new job opportunities with a lot of economic potential for the Egyptian market.

It mentioned VIAS' (Valeo Egypt's branch) success in the past 2 years. However, it has a false statement underlined here under.More...

Tayseer was the first to suggest having an Egyptian Python User Group. As a result, he created a forum for discussions (hosted by SpellCoder). I suggested naming it "Egypy" to avoid our excessive use of "Egyptian" as a naming convention in everything we try to do to the extend that it sometimes becomes ugly and kills new and creative names.

Finally, Tayseer is initiating the first Egypy meeting on Friday 27/8/2007. There is a Facebook event to disseminate the idea even further.

It will be a great chance to gather up and share our Python experiences and make people more aware about the beauty of Python.

Now go tell everyone....and see you there inshallah.

A week later: SKDD2 Updates

I was chatting with Mohamed Hossam and he shared his agony with me about some people's opinions regarding the reason behind DemoDay 2. People think that it's a concpiracy and there must be a link to Microsoft Egypt.

Thankfully, Dody G., Silverkey CEO founder, responds about the matter in his blog. He also goes on to share Silverkey's future plans for Demo Day

SKDD2 slides are now available online for free downloading, with no copyright restrictions, as well as the Audience Evaluations of the whole day. This proves how open Silverkey is to the developers community in Egypt.

Update: Mohamed Tayseer had his intake on the event too. Nice read from a Silverkey insider.

About Me

AA. I am Mohamed Salem Korayem. I work as an Embedded Software Engineer in a major international automotive supplier company here in Cairo, Egypt.

Currently I work in the Tooling Dept. where I, and the rest of the team, strive to make our fellow embedded software geeks happier. I work mainly with the .NET 2.0 using C#.

I also have a big appetite for web-development. I like analyzing the revolution of the web (aka Web 2.0) and how it affects people's lives in return. I develop web-apps with ASP.NET 2.0/Python in my free time. For client-side stuff, I use jQuery for all that Javascript magic.

What I muse, I share on this blog. So enjoy reading my mind and in case you like what you read, kindly subscribe by either email or RSS.
